Lifting for Scooter will be a fun event where athletes with show some serious strength and hard work! All participants will choose 1 event where they will strive to perform either the most amount of reps in pull up or push ups in 3 minutes, or Squat or Deadlift the most amount of weight possible for 1 repetition. Athletes will set realistic goals based on strength and current training program.
Our goal is to raise $8,000 to fund the ongoing medical care of Stephanie “Scooter” Dickie.
On August 28, 2015 Scooter experienced significant brain damage when she went into sudden cardiac arrest at the age of 33. She battled out of a coma, through vegetative and minimally conscious states and is now breathing on her own. She laughs, she smiles, and she cries; we have watched nothing short of a miracle in terms of how far she has come. Despite her amazing progress, it is heartbreaking to see where she is compared to the fiery light she once was. She has shown strength, determination and perseverance everyday in her fight.
